ATLANTA IN THE CLAWS OF DARKNESS
8/7/2026
A battle-tested way of creating is to just say fuck it and put shit out there for real. A thing I analyze about my writing is I feel that I am too profane and want to tone down so that the sentences can be much more airy, glidey I suppose. Not just robust or giving off some pretense of bravado. However, there are times when it is necessary to use the simplest term possible that conveys understanding,
like a handshake, a smile, a frown, a fist bump, a passing by, an exchange of dollars for an overpriced coffee with sweet milk, anything we can possibly think of.
This period is a time for going with ideas, but if I'm an artist, hobo, line cook, sound maker, salesman, acteur, crook, trash porter, the main thing is that no expression needs to be explained.
Make the sculpture, write the play, draw the doodle, say the joke, get the promotion, post, don't post, take a break, sit in silence in a blank room for 1 hour, extend release dates, do whatever the hell you want, but don't explain.
